Alex has recently discovered that he can chew on his toes, so that has been a source of entertainment while trying to change his diaper.

What talent! Did we all used to be that flexible? I wonder what happened? Oh yeah, we got old.

Today was a baseball hat kind of day. How does he look? Eventually, we'll get him a Red Sox hat, but this is a good start. He didn't even rip it off his head so I guess he likes it... for now.

When I transitioned Alex from the 3-6 mo. to the 6-9 mo. clothes, this was one of my favorites!

I don't have a new picture for today, but I just had to tell you that Alex said "Momma" and put his arms up for me to pick him up!!!! I freaked out. Sam and I both looked at each other like, "did he just say that?". It was very exciting and I got a little teary... then I met the girls for a drink! I'm hoping it wasn't a fluke, but Sam and I have been practicing with him so hopefully he'll say it again soon - maybe even try "Dada" next time! We also just got Alex his new car seat which I'm still learning how to use - need more practice tightening the straps, but I'm getting there. I hope everyone has a good day! :o)

Sam taught Alex the art of "lounging" this weekend - he looks like he should be floating in a pool with a cocktail!

We had a great weekend and I even got some time to myself. Alex and Sam had a lot of fun and they were both smiling when I got home last night, so we can't ask for more than that!

Alex had his 6 month shots yesterday and he was a champ! He is 28 inches long and weighs in at a hefty 18 lbs 12.5 oz to keep him in the 90th percentile! You can see he has a blue band aid on his thigh from one of the shots - he had 3 total. Marcus found these golf balls and Alex just thinks they are the most wonderful thing ever!

Alex loves to play with Steve! He loves to be on the porch - especially in the rocking chair! We all had a great weekend despite the traffic from the Road Race. The weather was perfect!

Alex has taken a liking to this little finger puppet wash cloth and just loves to chew on it.

Alex also likes to sleep with his rear end in the air, just like his mother did when she was a kid!

We had a great time at Grammy's over the weekend and Alex has mastered the art of sitting up! As you can see, he's also still drooling.

We had a great weekend at home. We went out to dinner with friends, tried out Grew's Pond and had fun in the water, and Alex learned how to play the piano!

He loves his jumpster and he was having so much fun he just got tuckered out and decided to take a snooze!

Alex also loves to play with Claude, my stuffed manatee. These 2 characters have strikingly similar features!

Alex has also started eating "real" food! He tried rice cereal, which was a great start and we practiced that for a few weeks, but decided to move on to bigger and better foods like.... prunes!
His face doesn't show it, but he loves it and he's getting so good with eating with the spoon - note that I have to hold his hands down or we'd both be wearing a lot more of it.

We also took Alex to the beach for the first time. He was very tired and scared of the water, but hopefully the next time we can play in the water without crying. He loves to play in the bathtub, but was a bit intimidated by the big, blue ocean.
